We went to BeWILDerwood and it was awesome!

We hopped in Dougal (the hire van), spacious, comfortable and excellent on fuel, so that we could utilise the kitchen facilities and save money on food and drink.

Quick stop at the supermarket and we were set for breakfast, lunch and tea.

BeWILDerwood is our kind of theme park!

As a family we love to be outside, in nature, climbing trees, plus we are about to build a treehouse of are very own. So this seemed like the ideal place to do a bit of research. The boat ride into the park was fab, we even saw a family of ducks! So cute!! Once we arrived we checked out the days itinerary and decided to head to the slippery slopes first!

I honestly thought I would chicken out!! I was so scared sitting at the top with one of my children either side of me! They were feeling a bit worried too! Bruce was already at the bottom waiting for us and egging us on! Feel the fear and do it anyway and all that! We did it!! Then we went to the tallest slide and each went down in turn! My stomach was in my mouth! ???? I’m so proud of myself though!

We had faces painted, did arts and crafts, listened to stories, met the characters, danced at the bewilderbug ball and split in to teams and raced around the sky maze looking for clues! Elsie and I won! Much to poor Betsys dismay who thought choosing to be on Daddy’s team was a fail safe ticket to the finish line! We dared to cross the broken bridge and flew through the air on zip wires, and went back for more of the epic slides at the slippery slopes! Back on the boat and off to the gift shop! We left there with unicorn eggs that we just couldn’t possibly live with out! Magnets (18 of them) a precious stone a delightful duck whistle and 4 sticks of rock!

We started heading home but we’re keeping our eyes peeled for a good place to stop for tea! We found a wonderful spot by the river in Whitlingham Country Park. Complete with pirate ship park and woodlands for exploring! Bruce and the kids went for a walk whilst I cooked veg stir fry!

After tea we had a coffee, went for a walk and played in the park .

A lovely day out! Can’t wait for our next mini adventure.
